From Pakistan!!!

Beautiful photograph. Very rarely one gets the evidence of such a happening so as to help understand the chain of events led to such a drastic situation. But one thing one must not forget is, problems with the landing gear is not uncommon, but such a problem with A-320s 'is' uncommon. A-320, the star product of Airbus, enjoys least crash or crash landing records. Let's see such 'widely media covered' crash landing leaves what effects on A320s' sales.

Fantastic capture of this dramatic moment. One of the few, if ONLY non-TV captures of this emergency landing. This landing will remain memorable for years to come because of A.) The aircrew's skill in making a butter-smooth landing, and B.) The Los Angeles and national media machine for turning a relatively low-risk emergency procedure into a life-or-death 3-hour dramatic ratings-grabbing breaking news event. Great photo!

First of all, Jet Blue is all I fly, though I havent been on this particular plane. I admire their success and operation, I still am always in wonder when flying, at times exceeding 600mph,7 miles above the earth,in temperatures of -20 to -60 degreesand all about are calm bored passengers.I guess most ignore the reality of the situation. However, there is the pilot, this is what he gets paid for, this picture will be on his wall, nice job.I imagine most people on the plane could sit in the pilot seat at altitude and feel like a driver,Not so hard. But here was the pilots chance to shine, and he did. In some ways I could see a little more "bling" or "pizazz" being added to takeoffs and landings,There are incredible dynamics taking place in the photo and they have been captured beautifully.Everyday static backround contrasting with controlled chaos. It's beautiful,it looks like he lands this way 2 or 3 times a week. I relate in my small way because I started auto racing this year, no experience, and first time ever on a track, I find myself caught up in the competition, nearly 130mph approaching a 90 degree turn,I wouldnt back off until those following did and then I have to make this turn, I almost put my signal on.But the appeal is functioning, focus, operating with out fear, making the commitment,So, while I bet most others on the plane are dealing with wild thoughts and fears, I bet the pilot is enjoying his confidence, and if i could enlarge the picture,I bet we'd see him smiling.

Considering it was an Airbus A320 it never seizes to amaze me that this particular model has a flair for tv sensationalism. Of course, kudos to the pilots for doing a fantastic job. This picture is worth a thousand words. It also goes to show you cannot compromise on quality when it comes to landing gears, and neither does this photo. Good Job.

Nice action shot, capturing the moment of truth! Yes, pilots did a great job, putting into action all the extensive training they have received. However, I would have to disagree with the passengers and others who thought this mishap could have ended in fatalities. A nose failure is not good, but it isn't reason to right away think passengers will not make it. Worse case scenario, plane lands and veers off runway, nose gear collapses, some injuries to passengers (maybe). Of course, the media got a hold of this one and ran! So people, take it easy. If I would have been on that flight, I would have been rather calm and trying to explain to passengers writing final notes to loved ones that no, you most likely have nothing to fear, just an extra rough landing. BTW, pilot here.

The timing of the shot is perfect, but words are not enough to explain the pilot's and C/O performance, the question is why did this happen & what if the nose gear was only stuck on less than 90 angle, 20 degrees or 45. No dought that this is God's mercey with us.
